About Trilobita
Building WordPress plugins that solve real problems.
The Story
I’m Matt and Trilobita started from a simple frustration: WordPress needed better document management.
I was working on a client project that required version-controlled documents. The existing solutions were either bloated with features nobody needed, or so basic they were barely functional. So I built my own.
That tool became DocVault. What started as a solution for one project turned into something other WordPress users could benefit from too. Editor Remit followed – a different problem, the same approach.
Today, Trilobita is dedicated to building well-crafted plugins that do one thing exceptionally well. No feature bloat. No unnecessary complexity. Just tools that work.

How I Work
Quality Over Quantity
I’d rather have one excellent plugin than ten mediocre ones. Every feature is carefully considered, tested, and refined before release.
Security First
All code follows WordPress security best practices. Input validation, output escaping, and capability checks are non-negotiable.
Real Support
When you reach out, you get a response from someone who actually wrote the code. No ticket queues or canned responses.
Why “Trilobita”?
Trilobites were among the most successful creatures to ever live on Earth. They thrived for over 300 million years by being adaptable, resilient, and perfectly suited to their environment.
That’s the approach I take with software: build things that are robust, adaptable, and built to last. No flashy features that break with the next WordPress update. Just solid, reliable tools.
Open Source Commitment
The free versions of all Trilobita plugins are genuinely free and open source under the GPL. No artificial limitations designed to frustrate you into upgrading.
Pro versions exist for users who need advanced features and priority support. But the free version is a complete, useful tool on its own.
