• “Free Plugin” refers to the free version available on WordPress.org
• “Pro Plugin” refers to the premium version requiring a paid license
• “License” refers to the right to use the Pro Plugin

2. Website Use

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not:

• Use the website in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Transmit malicious code or interfere with the website’s operation
• Use automated systems to scrape content without permission

3. Free Plugin License

The free version of DocVault is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPL v2+). This means you are free to:

• Use the plugin for any purpose
• Study and modify the source code
• Redistribute the plugin
• Distribute your modifications

4. Pro Plugin License

The Pro Plugin is also licensed under the GPL v2+. However, purchasing a license grants you:

• Access to download the Pro Plugin
• Automatic updates for the license period
• Priority support for the license period

License Types

• Pro License – Valid for 1 site
• Agency License – Valid for unlimited sites you own or manage

License Restrictions

• Licenses are non-transferable
• You may not share your license key publicly or resell access to downloads/support
• Agency licenses may only be used on sites you own or manage on behalf of clients

License Expiry

Licenses are valid for one year from purchase. When your license expires:

• The plugin continues to work
• You will no longer receive updates
• You will no longer receive priority support

You may renew your license at any time to restore access to updates and support.

5. Purchases and Payment

All purchases are processed by Freemius, our payment provider. By making a purchase, you also agree to Freemius Terms of Service.

• All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated
• Prices may be subject to VAT for UK/EU customers
• Licenses renew automatically unless cancelled
• You may cancel auto-renewal at any time from your account

6. Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all Pro purchases. If you are not satisfied with the plugin for any reason, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.

To request a refund, contact us with your order details.

Refunds are not available:

• After 14 days from purchase
• For license renewals (you may cancel before renewal instead)
• If you have violated these terms

7. Support

Free Plugin: Community support via the WordPress.org forums. We monitor the forums but cannot guarantee response times.

Pro Plugin: Priority email support. We aim to respond within 2-3 business days.

Support includes:

• Help with plugin installation and configuration
• Troubleshooting plugin issues
• Guidance on using plugin features

Support does not include:

• Customisation or development work
• Third-party plugin or theme conflicts (though we will try to help)
• Server configuration or WordPress installation

8. Intellectual Property

The Trilobita name, logo, and website content (excluding plugin code) are our intellectual property. You may not use our branding without permission.

Plugin code is licensed under GPL v2+ as described above.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our plugins are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The plugin will meet your specific requirements
• The plugin will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• The plugin will be compatible with all themes, plugins, or server configurations

You are responsible for maintaining backups of your website and data.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits or revenue
• Loss of data
• Business interruption
• Loss of business opportunity

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or use of our products shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product in question.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our products or violation of these terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license if you breach these terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to updates and support ends immediately
• You may continue to use the plugin under the GPL license
• No refund will be provided for termination due to breach

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email to active license holders. Continued use of our products after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

15. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Trilobita regarding use of our website and products.
