DocVault gets expiry dates, better access control, and Pro customisation

Managing documents isn’t just about getting files online — it’s about keeping them current. A policy document that expired six months ago sitting on your frontend isn’t a minor inconvenience, it’s a
liability.

The latest updates to DocVault tackle exactly that.

What’s new in the free plugin

The latest update adds document expiry dates. Set a date on any document and it disappears from the frontend list automatically once that date passes — no manual intervention needed. The admin list flags
expiring documents in amber and expired ones in red so nothing slips through unnoticed. Use [trdv_list show_expired="true"] if you need to see them on the frontend.

There’s also a new file type filter in the admin document list. If you manage a library with a mix of PDFs, spreadsheets, and presentations, filtering to a single type is now one click.

The DocVault block and [trdv_link] shortcode now correctly withhold document metadata and download links from users who don’t have permission to view the document.

What’s new in Pro

DocVault Pro 1.4.0 picks up the expiry date feature in the audit log — every time an expiry date is set or cleared it’s recorded, keeping your compliance trail complete.

Pro also adds button colour customisation. If the default blue download button clashes with your site’s brand, you can now set a custom background and text colour from the Pro settings page.
